Naeem Boucher's first career goal was the game winner in a 3-2 victory against NJCU.
Box Score

WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman Naeem Boucher (Paterson, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) struck for the game winner in the 75th minute, lifting William Paterson (6-3-5, 1-1-4 NJAC) to a 3-2 victory against New Jersey City (6-7-2, 0-5-1 NJAC) Oct. 14 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

Boucher connected on a Dan Fulmer (Andover, N.J./Newton) pass and scored to the right upper 90 from the left side, collecting his first career goal and breaking a 2-2 deadlock with 15:15 remaining in the contest.

William Paterson built a 2-0 lead, breaking through in the 20th minute when senior Jonathan Donado (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) knocked in a rebound of a free kick, and scoring again less than five minutes into the second half thanks to a Steve DeMatteo (Piscataway, N.J./St. Joseph-Metuchen) flick over the goalkeeper off an assist by Fulmer.

However, the Gothic Knights responded with a pair of Walter Avans goals during a five-minute span. The first, an unassisted ball that was slipped under WP goalkeeper Dan Peragallo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick), found the back of the net just 83 seconds after DeMatteo's strike. Avans then tied up the match in the 55th minute, converting off a corner kick and into the right side of the frame.

Peragallo made nine saves for the Pioneers, and was helped by saves off the line by Joe Strawman (Ringoes, N.J./ Hunterdon Central Regional) and Chris Belan (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.). Sophomore Manny Lojo had three saves during 59:51 of time for NJCU, while junior Justin Grant made two stops during the final 30:09 of action.

William Paterson will play at The College of New Jersey Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1:00 p.m.
