WAYNE, N.J. – Playing in its sixth straight double-overtime contest, the William Paterson men's soccer team (5-3-5, 0-1-4 NJAC) earned a 1-1 tie against visiting Rowan (8-4-2, 2-1-2 NJAC) Oct. 10.

The Profs got on the scoreboard first when senior Jason Dugan converted a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. The Pioneers were able to knot the contest at 1-1 in the 55th minute of play, thanks to an Anthony Ferrer (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) goal off an Andrew Tauriello (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) assist following a scramble in the box.

William Paterson had several excellent chances to score during the two overtime periods, including a Jonathan Donado (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) blast off the crossbar during the first extra session. Overall, the Pioneers outshot the Profs by a 20-11 margin.

Senior goalkeeper Dan Peragallo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) made six saves for the Pioneers, while junior Charlie Cunliffe had 10 stops for Rowan.

William Paterson will host New Jersey City Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7:00 p.m.
