Men's Soccer Cruises Past FDU-Florham, 6-0

Four Different Pioneers Contribute to Scoring

Sophomore Daniel Sanchez scored two of the Pioneers' goals of a 6-0 victory at FDU-Florham.

MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore Julian Valerio (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) posted five points, while classmates Daniel Sanchez (Prospect Park, N.J./Manchester Regional) and Ambrogio Pipitone (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) each contributed a pair of goals, as the William Paterson men's soccer team (3-0-1) cruised to a 6-0 victory at FDU-Florham (0-4) Sept. 6.

Valerio got things rolling with a successful penalty kick 4:09 into the match, followed by Pipitone's first goal as a Pioneer, a converted pass from Valerio in the 17th minute. Sanchez then struck for consecutive scores, the first unassisted in the 25th minute and the other thanks to another Valerio assist in the 59th minute. Pipitone made it a 5-0 score with an unassisted goal in the 61st minute, and junior Jonathan Donado (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) finished the effort in the 85th minute, using a Valerio assist to end the scoring.

Sophomore Dan Peragallo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) made three saves for William Paterson, recording his first shutout of the year.

The Pioneers will begin the home portion of the 2008 schedule Wednesday, Sept. 10, hosting Arcadia at 7:00 p.m.
