MASPETH, N.Y. – Sophomore Julian Valerio (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) found the back of the netting for the second time this season, but neither team could do so again for the next 80 minutes as the William Paterson men's soccer team (2-0-1) played to a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Baruch Sept. 3. 

The Bearcats struck first with a goal in the 14th minute, but Valerio had an answer when he tied the match 20 minutes later off a through ball from junior Helder Andrade (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.). The best scoring chance for either team was a penalty kick late in the second half, but Valerio's penalty kick was unsuccessful.

Sophomore Dan Peragallo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) made seven saves for William Paterson.

The Pioneers will return to action Saturday, Sept. 6, playing at FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
