Field Hockey Falls at No. 9 Rowan, 2-1

Hara Scores First Career Goal in NJAC Opener

GLASSBORO, N.J. – No. 9 Rowan (4-1, 1-0 NJAC) jumped out to a two-goal lead and held on for a 2-1 victory against William Paterson (5-2, 0-1 NJAC) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) field hockey opener for both teams Sept. 20.

Amanda Greene scored both of the Profs' goals, the first unassisted in the 30th minute, and the second off a pass from Kiley Graham in the 67th minute. William Paterson struck back 1:39 later, when sophomore Jennie Hara (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) scored her first career goal with an assist from senior Meghan Hall (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) to cut the advantage to one with 2:09 to play.

Junior Christina Auger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) made 13 saves for the Pioneers in goal.

William Paterson will return to Wightman Stadium Tuesday, Sept. 23, to face Eastern at 7:00 p.m.
