Seniors (from left) Gina Annunziata, Meghan Hall and Tina Londino celebrated Senior Night with a 3-1 victory against Kean.
Box Score

WAYNE, N.J. – Junior Chelsea Winkelspecht (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) scored two goals, her 10th and 11th of the year, as the No. 14 William Paterson field hockey team (14-3, 4-2 NJAC) posted a victory on Senior Night, defeating conference rival Kean (13-5, 3-2 NJAC) 3-1 Nov. 4 at Wightman Stadium. For the Pioneers, it was their eighth consecutive victory and a boost to their resume in the hunt for an NCAA bid in the regular-season finale.

Winkelspecht scored her first goal of the game 10:55 into the first period, when she received a pass from senior Meghan Hall (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) and slipped it past the goalkeeper for a 1-0 WP advantage.

That goal would stand until the second half, when 49:55 into the game Kean junior Julie Bachovchin was awarded a penalty stroke after a hit near the goal. The junior forward was able to convert for her sixth score of the season, and the game was tied at 1-1.

That's when Winkelspecht answered three minutes later for William Paterson, notching her second goal of the night off a corner and pass from junior Jodi Feriod (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro)

Feriod would record a goal of her own goal during the 67th minute, and the Pioneers' defense held on from there.

Along with Hall, seniors Tina Londino (Gloucester City, N.J. / Gloucester City) and Gina Annunziata (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) celebrated their final regular-season game at Wightman Stadium.

WP junior goalkeeper Christina Auger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) made four saves for the win, while Ashlie Berghold collected one in the loss.
