WAYNE , N.J. -- The William Paterson women's soccer team (5-3, 1-2 NJAC ) fell to visiting Ramapo College (7-4, 3-1 NJAC), 2-1, Sept. 26 at the Pioneer Soccer Park.
Freshman forward Kimberly Bruno ( Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) opened the scoring at 11:14 of the first period with her fourth goal of the season, taking a pass from freshman forward Melissa Demko (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), and sliding it past the Pioneers' goalkeeper.
The Pioneers tied the game in the 37 th minute when freshman forward
Drea Wagoner (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley) buried a pass from sophomore forward
Jessica Reibis (Jackson, N.J./Jackson), giving Wagoner her third goal of the season and leaving the score tied, 1-1, at halftime.
Bruno notched her fifth goal of the season in the 74 th minute when she took a pass across the goal from senior midfielder Giordano (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills), and knocked in a low shot, giving the Roadrunners a 2-1 victory.
The Pioneers saw a chance to score and regain a tie with only 2:34 left in the match when junior forward
Amanda Kurdyla (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) hit a low ball inside the six-yard line, which was cleared by Roadrunners' defender Laura Fiorentino (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville).
