MADISON, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (4-3) dropped a 3-2 decision at FDU-Florham (4-3) Sept. 19.

The Devils struck first with a penalty corner goal in the 29th minute, but the Pioneers evened the contest in the 44th minute when sophomore Amber Scott (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) connected on a Christina Ayusa (Runnemede, N.J./Triton) pass to even the game at 1-1 in the 44th minute, but FDU-Florham answered with two straight goals for a 3-1 lead. Sophomore Chelsea Winkelspecht (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) finished the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 68th minute.

William Paterson sophomore Christina Auger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) made four saves in goal.

The Pioneers will return to action Friday, Sept. 21, with a home game against Rowan at 7:00 p.m.
