Amanda Kurdyla's (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) hat trick led the William Paterson women's soccer team (3-1) to a 4-1 victory against St. Joseph's-Long Island (2-3) Sept. 12 at Pioneer Soccer Park.
Kurdyla got the scoring started just 4:01 into the match, dribbling up the right and blasting a shot to the opposite post.She struck again in the 19th minute when freshman
Vikki Cicak's (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) pass beat the defender over the top, allowing Kurdyla to run on and score her fifth goal of the year.

Drea Wagoner (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley) found the back of the net for the first time during her career, connecting on a
Jessica Reibis (Jackson, N.J./Jackson) cross and ricocheting it off the Golden Eagles' keeper, making it a 3-0 score in the 37th minute.
St. Joseph's Angie Merante later shook free on a long breakaway up the center of the field, beating the WP keeper to make it a 3-1 game in the 54th minute.
Kurdyla finished the scoring, taking an Aly Ruddy pass and drilling it from 10 yards out with 7:23 remaining.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) made four saves for the Pioneers. Sophomore Dana Carney made five first-half saves for St. Joseph's before leaving at halftime due to an injury. Courtney Caden made five stops during the second half.
“It was a good game for us, especially after not playing in more than a week,” said head coach
Keith Woods. “It was a great result, and we're just focused and eager to begin NJAC competition this weekend at Jersey City.”
The Pioneers will begin New Jersey Athletic Conference play Saturday, Sept. 15, at New Jersey City at 11:00 a.m.
