WP Women Defeat Hunter, 107-86

Lauren Horowitz had personal-best times in the 500 and 1,000 frees.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (7-1) defeated visiting Hunter (0-3), 107-86, Nov. 27 at Wightman Pool.

Freshman Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) was one of three double winners, posting personal-best times in the 500 (5:49.21) and 1,000 (11:51.73) frees. Junior Cathy Hartwell (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched first in the 100 (58.02) and 200 (2:07.96) frees, and sophomore Giana Albruzzese (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) won the one-meter (145.2) and three-meter (141.15) dives. Junior Grace McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) finished first in the 50 free (26.74), and posted her best time of the year in the 100 back (1:03.64). Freshman Kirsten Shea (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) won the 100 fly (1:10.87) and junior Caitlin Rotondo (Brick, N.J./Methacton) finished first in the 100 breast (1:14.8), while the Pioneers won both the 200 free and medley relays.

The William Paterson men and women will compete at Arcadia Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1:00 p.m.
