Eight Different Pioneers Score in 11-0 Victory

Hall Records Hat Trick as Field Hockey Celebrates Senior Night

Seniors Allison Tauscher, Danielle Herbek, Ashley Allison and Marissa Horner, along with the WP coaching staff, celebrated Senior Night with an 11-0 victory against New Paltz.

WAYNE, N.J. – Eight different Pioneers struck the back of the cage as the William Paterson field hockey team (12-6) defeated visiting SUNY New Paltz (5-13), 11-0, in the regular-season finale for both schools Nov. 1 at Wightman Stadium.

Junior Meghan Hall (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) finished a hat trick two seconds before halftime, and sophomore Amber Scott (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) had a pair of goals during the first 30:30, giving the Pioneers a 5-0 lead at the intermission.

Junior Tina Londino (Gloucester City, N.J./Gloucester City), senior Danielle Herbek (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton), sophomore Christina Ayusa (Runnemede, N.J./Triton), senior Marissa Horner (Roebling, N.J./Florence) and freshmen Amanda Sheehan (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) and Ashley Reamer (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) each scored single goals during the second half. Sophomore Chelsea Winkelspecht (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) had four assists on the night, while classmate Jodi Feriod (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) had a pair of assists.

Pioneer goalie Christina Auger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) made one save for WP. Sophomore Ashley Price (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) played the final 11:44 in the cage for William Paterson. Jessica Malone had three stops for New Paltz. 

William Paterson honored its four seniors -- Ashley Allison (Middle Twp., N.J./Middle Twp.), Herbek, Horner and Allison Tauscher (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) -- prior to the match.
