UNION, N.J. – Behind goals from sophomores Chelsea Winkelspecht (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) and Christina Ayusa (Runnemede, N.J./Triton), the William Paterson field hockey team (9-4, 3-1 NJAC) won its fifth straight game, a 2-0 decision at Kean (7-4, 2-2 NJAC) Oct. 9. 
Winkelspecht scored an unassisted goal in the 15th minute, her fourth goal in three games, to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. The game was halted for 90 minutes due to lightning and heavy rain, but once the action resumed, Ayusa finished a Meghan Hall (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) pass to make it a 2-0 score in the 61st minute. 
Pioneer goalie Christina Auger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) made two saves for her fourth shutout of the year. 
William Paterson will return to action Wednesday, Oct. 17, at home against Stevens Tech at 7:00 p.m.
