WAYNE, N.J. –The William Paterson women's soccer team (8-8-1) played to a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Drew (5-7-4) in their final home match of the regular season Oct. 22 at the Pioneer Soccer Park.

The Rangers struck first in the first minute of the second half when sophomore forward Alyssa Goodman gained control of a loose ball inside the box played by sophomore midfielder Chelsea LeDuc, finishing her eighth goal of the season.

The Pioneers retaliated and tied the game in the 63rd minute when junior forward Amanda Kurdyla (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls), the Pioneers' all-time single-season goals leader and NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 22, registered her 19th goal of the season off a pass from junior forward Samantha Flynn (Lindenwold, N.J./Lindenwold).

Sophomore goalkeeper Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) made four saves for the Pioneers, bringing her record to 7-8-1. Drew goalkeeper Ann Mularz had 12 stops for the Rangers.

The Pioneers finish their regular season at Kean Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. A win against the Cougars would assure the Pioneers of a bid in the upcoming NJAC Tournament (first round, Oct. 27). With one league match remaining, WP is seventh in the standings (3-5, 9 points), trailing Kean (3-4-1, 10) and Ramapo (3-4-1, 10) for the sixth and final tournament berth.
