Three Second-Half Goals Lift No. 3 TCNJ Past Pioneers

WAYNE , N.J. –The William Paterson women's soccer team (7-8, 2-5 NJAC ) fell to visiting No. 3 TCNJ (13-0-1, 6-0-1 NJAC), 3-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference play Oct. 18 at the Pioneer Soccer Park.

Senior midfielder Dana DiBruno opened the scoring in the 51st minute with her ninth goal of the season, taking a cross from junior midfielder Coleen Weber and heading it low into the right corner of the net.

The Lions struck again in the 69th minute when senior defender Courtney Krol buried a corner kick taken by senior midfielder Kristen Cubicciotti, extending TCNJ's lead to 2-0.

Freshman midfielder Casey Caruso capped the scoring for the Lions in the 84th minute with her third goal of the season, sliding a low ball past the Pioneers goalkeeper.

Sophomore goalkeeper Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) made four saves for the Pioneers, including a diving stop to prevent a goal in the first half. TCNJ goalkeeper Jessica Clarke was not forced to make a save in the match. With the win, Clarke improves her record to 13-0-1 and registers her seventh shutout of the season.

The Pioneers will host Rutgers-Newark Saturday, Oct. 20, at 12:00 p.m. and Drew Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
