Women Improve to 10-2, Defeat John Jay

Grace McKay was first in the 200 IM (1:29.06) and 100 fly (1:04.57) in the swim of the meet.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team improved to 10-2 on the season, defeating John Jay 57-44 Jan. 26.

Senior Traci Dombrowski (Union, N.J./Union) was one of three double-winners for the Pioneers, earning victories in the 50 (27.61) and 100 (1:00.72) frees. Freshman Giana Albruzzese (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) won the one-meter required (132.00) and optional (134.00) dives, and Grace McKay (Fairlawn, N.J./Fairlawn) was first in the 200 IM (1:29.06) and 100 fly (1:04.57) in the swim of the meet. Senior Colleen Takemoto (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) won the 100 backstroke (1:13.62), junior Jessica Lyon (Pequannock, N.J./ Pequannock) touched first in the 500 free (5:52.89), sophomore Cathy Hartwell (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) earned the win in the 200 free (2:13.12), junior Katelyn Esposito (Vernon, N.J./Vernon) won the 1,000 free (12:48.72), and freshman Kristina Sajnoski (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) was victorious in the 100 backstroke (1:22.46).

The William Paterson men will host NJIT Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1:00 p.m. at Wightman Gym. The men's meet against the Highlanders will mark the final home contest of the season for the Pioneers.
