Late Goal Gives Eastern 2-1 Win

WAYNE, N.J. (OCTOBER 7, 2006) – An Eagle goal with 3:11 remaining gave the Eastern men's soccer team (9-4) a 2-1 victory against William Paterson (5-7-1) Oct. 7 at the Pioneer Soccer Park.

Taylor VanBrackle found the back of the net in the 21st minute off an assist from Matt Snavely, giving Eastern a 1-0 lead that would last for nearly 35 minutes. WPU's Eric Osman (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) headed in Michael Petracca's (Riverdale, N.J./Pompton Lakes) pass to even the score at 1-1 in the 57th minute, and the match seemed headed to overtime, but VanBrackle struck again in the 87th minute to lift Eastern to the victory.

Junior David Casper (Franklin, N.J./Timothy Christian) made six saves in goal for the Pioneers.
