WAYNE, N.J. (OCTOBER 26, 2006) – The William Paterson field hockey team (10-6) dropped a tough 2-1 overtime decision to visiting FDU-Florham (12-6) Oct. 26.
The Devils scored 2:30 into the contest when Christina Fabian found Alex DeVito on the right side of the circle, giving FDU the early edge. However, sophomore
Meghan Hall (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) tied the score in the 18th minute, scoring her team-leading ninth goal of the season.
Each team had chances both in the second half and the overtime period, but it was the Devils who finally cashed in, scoring off a penalty corner in the 83 rd minute.
Senior
Grace Browne (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) made four saves for the Pioneers in goal.
The Pioneers will face SUNY New Paltz Saturday, Oct. 28, at 12:00 p.m. in Milton, N.Y. WPU will finish the regular season at home Tuesday, Oct. 31, against Ramapo at 7:00 p.m.
