Jeff Albies Field
One of the best on-campus college baseball facilities in the state, Jeff Albies Field is a 100% Shaw Turf facility following the installation of the surface during the summer of 2018.
The facility underwent a complete transformation in 2004 when major construction included the conversion of the grass field to artificial turf. Also part of that project were stands that stretch from dugout to dugout to seat 500 fans, including a section of 97 covered chairbacks directly behind the plate, twin batting cages located down the right-field line, and bullpens on each side of the park. These amenities allow WP to practice on its own field later in the fall and earlier in the spring, giving the Pioneers a competitive advantage.Â
Formerly known as Pioneer Baseball Park, the stadium was renamed on Oct. 3, 2010, in honor of former head coach Jeff Albies, who won two national championships (1992, 1996) and 862 games during his 33-year career (1975-2007).
