WAYNE, N.J. – Women’s basketball junior guard Julie Rovito was named the March 5 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Rovito averaged 19.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.8 steals during four victories, helping to lead the Pioneers to the ECAC Tournament title while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She had her first career triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals in a 90-80 double-overtime, first-round win Feb. 28 at Hunter, then posted 21 tallies, eight boards and six assists in an 81-80 quarterfinal upset at top-seeded Washington & Jefferson March 2. Rovito contributed 13 points to a 69-63 semifinal victory against Springfield March 3, and had 17 tallies during a 52-48 triumph during the championship game March 4 against NYU.
