WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball junior guard Peter Martinez was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Nov. 27.
 
Martinez was outstanding over two games this past week, averaging 17.5 points per game on 47.4 (9-19) percent shooting, including 81.3 (13-16) percent from the free-throw line.
 
The California native began the week with a team-high 18 points against Ramapo on Nov. 21 in the first New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) battle of the season. The Thanksgiving holiday did not slow him down, as Martinez stayed hot in non-conference action against Centenary on Nov. 25, pouring in 17 points on 50 (5-10) percent shooting.
