WAYNE, N.J. – Senior softball pitcher Allison Podmajersky (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) was named the April 24 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Podmajersky was 2-1 with a 1.05 ERA during three complete games last week, striking out 16 and walking five during 20.0 innings pitched. She tossed a five-inning no-hitter April 20 against DeSales, posting six punchouts and one base on balls. With her second strikeout of a 7-3, eight-inning win at No. 5 Rowan April 23, Podmajersky broke WP's career strikeouts record of 424 set by Jenn Scott (2003-06). She finished with seven punchouts against the Profs to bring her total to 430, and surrendered three runs (one earned) on seven hits during the complete-game effort.
