WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball freshman guard Gabriel Paul (Hillside, N.J./Hillside) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for March 3.

Paul averaged 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two games last week, shooting 55.6 (10-18) from the floor. The 6-4 guard posted 15 points, eight rebounds and a game-best five assists in a 71-61 victory against Montclair State in the NJAC Tournament semifinals Feb. 28. He was 6-for-12 from the field against the Red Hawks, and had 11 of his points and six of his rebounds in the second half. Paul then collected 16 points and four rebounds in a 67-66 loss at Richard Stockton March 1 in the NJAC Tournament championship game. He was 8-for-9 from the line during the second half to give the Pioneers a chance to win the conference title.
