WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball senior forward Richy Espinal (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) was selected as the Nov. 21 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Espinal averaged team bests of 12.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game during a 2-1 week for WP. He contributed eight tallies, 11 boards, five assists, three assists and three steals to an 82-67 season-opening victory Nov. 15 against Brooklyn, and collected 15 points, 13 caroms, three assists and four steals during a 75-63 win Nov. 18 against Penn State Hazleton in the McCarthy Tire Laurel Line Tournament first round. Espinal had 15 tallies in the final Nov. 19 at Misericordia, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
