WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball junior forward Richy Espinal (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) was named the Jan. 18 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Espinal averaged 20.3 points and 8.0 rebounds during three games last week. He posted 13 tallies, seven boards and three assists Jan. 11 at York (N.Y.) before scoring a career-high 26 points in an 86-83 overtime victory Jan. 13 against Rowan. Espinal was 12-for-20 (.600) from the field, adding three assists and eight rebounds against the Profs. He finished the week with 22 tallies, nine boards and two blocked shots during an 81-76 win at The College of New Jersey Jan. 16, going 8-for-12 (.667) from the floor.
