WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman softball pitcher Allison Podmajersky (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) was named the April 28 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Podmajersky went 2-1 in four appearances, recording a 0.75 ERA and 14 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .229 average. She allowed just one run on three hits while walking six and striking out four batters during a 1-0 loss against No. 2 Montclair State April 22. Podmajersky concluded her week by earning a pair of victories at The College of New Jersey April 26. She gave up one run on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts during a complete-game effort in game one (2-1), and allowed just one hit and struck out two in 2.0 innings of relief in game two (3-2). At the plate, she led off the top of the seventh of game two with a double, eventually scoring the tying run during a victory that handed the Pioneers the top seed for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament.
