WAYNE, N.J. – Football junior defensive back Elijah DeGuzman (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) was named the Sept. 30 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.

DeGuzman contributed seven tackles, including 2.0 for a loss, to a 49-23 Homecoming victory Sept. 28 against Maritime. He shot into the backfield and snatched a backwards toss by quarterback Ryan Heizman right out of the air, sprinting the 15 yards into the end zone and making it a 42-16 game with 13:46 remaining in the contest
