WAYNE, N.J. – Women's basketball junior guard Lindsey Callander (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Feb. 27.
Callander played an important role, helping to fill the role of point guard when senior All-American guard BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) was unable to play due to injury in William Paterson’s New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament 56-49 semifinal victory against Rutgers-Newark Feb. 21. Against the Scarlet Raiders, Callander collected five points and three rebounds while playing 39 minutes. She was 4-for-4 from three-point range for 14 points, grabbing four boards in WP’s 79-69 NJAC Tournament final victory at No. 23/24 Kean Feb. 24. Eleven of those tallies came during the opening half against the Cougars.
