WAYNE, N.J. – Tennis freshman Jessica Daniels (Edison, N.J./Edison) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Oct. 17.
Daniels was 3-0 at singles and 2-1 at doubles last week. She earned a 6-4, 6-2 win against Kristina Rossano at third singles and was an 8-0 winner at second doubles during a 5-4 win at Farmingdale State Oct. 10. Daniels won 6-4, 5-4, retired at third singles against Richard Stockton Oct. 15, and was a 6-1, 6-1 victor against Sophia Varriano at third singles and an 8-2 winner at second doubles during an 8-1 victory against Staten Island Oct. 16. The Pioneers finished the fall 6-3 overall and 3-3 in league play for their best effort in the eight years since the program was re-instated in 2004.
