WAYNE, N.J. – Baseball junior outfielder Rob Somers (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for April 4.

 

Somers hit .600 with four walks, four RBI and seven runs scored during four games last week, helping the Pioneers finish their homestand with an 8-1 record. He also was perfect in the outfield in six chances and posted a .765 on-base percentage. Somers went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI during an 11-4 win against RPI March 29, and was 1-for-2 and scored a run in a 15-0, seven-inning win against John Jay March 31. He also finished 3-for-3, crossed the plate three times and drove in two runners during a 14-4 victory against Rowan April 2.
