WAYNE, N.J. – Football junior bandit Doug Dudek (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Oct. 4.

 

Dudek returned a blocked punt for a touchdown while leading the Pioneers with 12 tackles during a 35-0 Homecoming victory against Western Connecticut Oct. 2. Of his 12 stops, two were for a loss, and he also recovered a fumble. Dudek’s 26-yard return of a punt blocked by Chris Thomas (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) at the start of the fourth quarter was the Pioneers’ fifth and final touchdown of the day, and the shutout was the first for the Pioneers since a 17-0 road win against Plymouth State during the 2005 season.
