WAYNE, N.J. – Baseball senior outfielder/designated hitter Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week March 29.

 

Guadango became the Pioneers’ career hits leader with six in four games played last week, the last a two-run homer March 28 in an 11-6 win against Utica for his record-breaking 227th hit (Paul Bumbaco, 226, 1993-96). He hit .400 (6-15) last week with a double, two home runs, six runs scored and four RBI, adding six walks for a .571 on-base percentage and an .867 slugging percentage. He was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer during a 17-7 win at Manhattanville March 25, and was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 9-8, 10-inning win against Stevens March 27.
