WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s swimming sophomore Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week Nov. 9.

Birkbeck turned in several excellent times during a 136-104 victory against SUNY Maritime Nov. 3. He swam a 52.90 to touch fourth in the 100 free, and a 1:58.09 to place third in the 200 free. He also registered a leadoff leg of 23.71 during the 200 free relay (1:35.85).
