Pioneers to Celebrate with Activities Jan. 31
WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson University will celebrate “National Girls and Women in Sports Day” on Saturday, Jan. 31, with a series of free events offered at the Recreation Center on campus.
A free basketball clinic for girls of all ages will be conducted from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m., followed by a discussion about Title IX and its impact on female athletes. Lunch will be served from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m., followed by the tip-off of William Paterson’s women’s basketball game against nationally-ranked Kean at 1:00 p.m. At halftime of the contest, the Pioneers’ female student-athletes will be honored for their academic and athletic achievements during the last year.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 200 girls/women in attendance.
