Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Co-Women's Swimmer of the Year and garnered three first-team all-league certificates, while senior
Hannah Hillebrand (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) was an honorable-mention pick in the three-meter dive.
Blazevska was a first-team all-NJAC honoree in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley as a result of her performances at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 19-21. Blazevska broke her own WP record in the 400 IM (4:42.04) while finishing fourth in the Mets A Final, and she also touched third in the 100 (1:06.98) and 200 (2:24.00) breast A Finals.
The Dec. 14, Feb. 8 and Feb. 15 NJAC Swimmer of the Week, Blazevska also established new school records in the 100 IM (1:03.05, Feb. 13 at Bard) and 200 IM (2:15.37, Dec. 5 vs. Mount Saint Mary) this winter. The 2014 NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year, she previously was a first-team all-conference selection in the 200 breast (2014, 2015) and 400 IM (2015), and a second-team all-league pick in the 100 breast (2015).
Hillebrand broke the WP record in the three-meter dive (407.75), finishing fourth at Mets. The Dec. 7, Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Feb. 8 and Feb. 15 NJAC Diver of the Week, Hillebrand owns the school records in the one-meter (258.97, Dec. 5 vs. Mount Saint Mary) and one-meter synchronized (157.05, Jan. 19 vs. SUNY Cobleskill) dives, and competed at the 2016 NCAA Diving Regional Feb. 26-27 at SUNY Cortland. She was a second-team all-league selection in the one-meter and three-meter dives a year ago.
