HUMMELS WHARF, PA. -- The William Paterson golf team (0-1) started its 2014 schedule by finishing fifth of six teams at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational April 1 at the par-70, 6,200-yard Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

The Pioneers finished with a 375 (+95), led by sophomore Dylan Schley (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) with a 22-over 92 (tied-16th). Classmate James Nuzzo (Edison, N.J./Edison) tied for 20th (93, +23), junior John Quirolo (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) carded a 94 (+24, tied-22nd) and junior Frank Herudek (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) had a 26-over 96 to finish 24th. Senior Michael Calabro (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) posted a 106 (+36, 26th).

Susquehanna took the team title with a total of 310 (+30), and Crusader Daniel Wilson was the individual medalist with a three-under 67.

WP will compete at the Rutgers-Camden Invitational Friday, April 4, at Pennsauken Country Club at 1:00 p.m.
