WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson senior guard
Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) added to her list of postseason awards with a selection to the D3hoops.com All-America Fourth Team, the group announced March 22.
An honorable-mention Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) all-American as well as a member of the D3hoops.com All-Atlantic Region and All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Teams, Borova led the league with 21.5 points (17th in Division III) and 3.3 steals (19th nationally) per game, adding 5.0 assists (second in league, 37th in Division III) and 6.0 rebounds while starting 26 of 28 contests. She became WP's career assists (452) leader Feb. 8, and the career steals leader (315) Feb. 22. Also second in Pioneer history with 1,740 career points, Borova was third in three-pointers made (2.0 per game), fifth in assist/turnover ratio (0.9) and sixth in free-throw percentage (.753, 137-182) in the conference statistics, and compiled 27 double-digit scoring games (13 20+, three 30+, one 40+), three double-figure rebounding totals, one double-digit assists game, one double-figure steals total, four double-doubles and one triple-double this season. She was named the NJAC Player of the Week five times this winter (Nov. 25, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 24, March 3).
This marks the fourth time a Pioneer has been named a D3hoops.com all-American, and the third time in a four-year span that a WP student-athlete was so honored (April Smith, 2011-12 All-Third Team; BriAnna Lucas, 2010-11 All-Third Team; Luci Custis, 2006-07 All-Fourth Team).
William Paterson finished the season 18-10 overall and 13-5 in league play, advancing to the NJAC Tournament championship game.
