Jackiewicz, Bianco Named Exercise Science, Athletic Training Major of the Year

Pair of Pioneers Honored for Academic Successes

WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson women's basketball senior guard Kristine Jackiewicz (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) and former women's soccer back Carlye Bianco (Eatontown, N.J./Monmouth Regional) have been named the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Undergraduate Exercise Science and Athletic Training Major of the Year, respectively.

Jackiewicz (2010-14) has started in 42 of 101 career games, averaging 4.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest while helping to lead the Pioneers to the 2011 and 2012 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament titles as well as appearances in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 NCAA Tournaments. She was a member of the 2011-12 NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and 2012-13 NJAC All-Academic First Team, and a Fall 2010, Spring 2011, Fall 2011, Spring 2012, Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 Dean's List student with a 3.808 grade point average.

Bianco (2011-12) started in 20 of 25 matches for WP after transferring from Elmira College and helped lead the Pioneers to two berths in the NJAC Tournament as well as an appearance in the 2012 ECAC Metro Tournament. She was a member of the 2012-13 NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and a Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 Dean's List student with a 3.561 grade point average.
