PITMAN, N.J. – William Paterson freshman
Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tennis Rookie of the Week for the third time this season when she was acknowledged Sept. 23.
The winner of the same award on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, LaBruna scored an 8-6 win at first doubles with junior
Kristy Daubert (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) against Allie Jackson-Hing and Amandine Le Goupil-Maier, and posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jackson-Hing at first singles, during a 6-3 team victory against Baruch Sept. 19. She finished the week with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at first singles against The College of New Jersey's Katie Buchbinder Sept. 21. It is believed that LaBruna's win marked the first time in more than two decades that perennial power TCNJ suffered a first-singles loss against New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) competition.
William Paterson (2-4) will visit Farmingdale State Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 5:00 p.m.
