Box Score 2 PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – William Paterson volleyball head coach
Sandy Ferrarella collected her 600th career victory as the Pioneers (10-1) split a tri-match at St. Joseph's-Long Island Sept. 21. WP swept Old Westbury (2-6), 25-13, 25-17, 25-11, before falling in straight sets to the host Golden Eagles (8-6), 20-25, 21-25, 14-25.
Ferrarella now owns a record of 600-375 (.615) during her 35th season on the sideline of her alma mater. She began the campaign ranked 13th among active Division III coaches, and 22nd overall, in victories.
Against Old Westbury, freshman outside hitter
Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) and senior outside hitter
Amanda Morales (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) each put down nine kills. Junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) had 34 assists and seven digs, freshman outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) posted nine kills and seven digs, and junior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) chipped in seven kills and six digs.
Against St. Joseph's-Long Island, Long led the Pioneers with eight kills and two block solos, adding 10 digs. Salemo had six kills and a team-best 12 digs, and Koukos registered 18 assists and six digs.
William Paterson will play at Kean Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7:00 p.m.
