PITMAN, N.J. – William Paterson senior
Gabriel Paul (Newark, N.J./Hillside) was named a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Basketball All-Second Team when the awards were announced Feb. 22.
Paul led the Pioneers and ranked sixth in the conference in scoring (15.6 ppg) this season. The 6-5 guard also ranked second in the NJAC in free-throw percentage (.836, 107-128), 14th in field-goal percentage (.449, 136-303), and tied for 18th in rebounding (4.6 rpg), offensive rebounds (1.5 rpg) and defensive rebounds (3.1 rpg). The Jan. 10 NJAC Player of the Week, Paul reached double figures in scoring in all but one game this season, and he became the 27th member of the Pioneers' 1,000-point club on Feb. 5. He finished his career with 1,053 points (24th all time), and averaged 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest while starting in 95 of 105 career appearances.
William Paterson finished the season 12-13 overall and 4-9 in conference play.
