Pioneers, Pirates to Meet Nov. 5 on SHU Campus

Head coach Jose Rebimbas and the Pioneers will play an exhibition game at Seton Hall Nov. 5.
WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team will play an exhibition game at Seton Hall Friday, Nov. 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Walsh Gymnasium on campus. The exhibition will be open to the public and Upper Reserved tickets are on sale for $5.00. Tickets can be purchased in person, by calling the Seton Hall Athletic Ticket Office at (973) 275-HALL (4255), or online at shupirates.com.

The game will be a homecoming for William Paterson head coach Jose Rebimbas, who is a 1990 Seton Hall graduate and a member of the Pirates' 1989 team that advanced to the national championship game of the NCAA Tournament.

The 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Atlantic Region and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division III Coach of the Year, Rebimbas just finished his 15th season at William Paterson and his 16th season as a head coach, leading the Pioneers to a 25-3 overall record and a 12-1 mark in conference play a year ago. William Paterson won the NJAC's regular-season North Division title and the program's 10th NJAC Tournament championship last winter. Rebimbas earned his 300th career victory (300-133) and the Pioneers punched their ticket for the NJAC Tournament championship game with a 55-37 semifinal victory against North No. 3 Seed Ramapo (18-9) Feb. 24.

He begins his 16th season at WP with an overall mark of 301-134. The all-time winningest coach in Pioneer men's basketball history, Rebimbas has guided the Pioneers to five New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) titles (2000-2002, 2006, 2010) and seven NCAA Tournament bids (1997, 1999-2002, 2006, 2010), including spots in the 2001 national championship game, the 1999 Final Four and the 2006 Elite Eight.

William Paterson previously played at Seton Hall during the 2006-07 season, a contest that served as an exhibition for the Pirates and a countable game for the Pioneers (Dec. 15, 83-56 SHU win).
