No. 10 Men's Basketball to Host Stockton in NJAC Tournament Final Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

No. 10 William Paterson (24-2, 12-1 NJAC), the top overall seed and the champion of the North Division, will attempt to win its 10th New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament title when the Pioneers host South No. 1 Seed Richard Stockton (20-6, 9-4 NJAC) in the championship game Saturday, Feb. 27. Tip-off at William Paterson's Rec Center will be at 2:00 p.m.

Scouting No. 10 William Paterson
The Pioneers are 24-2 overall and 12-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) this season following a 55-37 home NJAC Tournament semifinal victory against North No. 3 Seed Ramapo (18-9) Feb. 24. William Paterson is ranked 10th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, is the champion of the NJAC's North Division, and the top overall seed for the NJAC Tournament. The Pioneers earned a first-round bye for the conference championship. 

A first-team all-NJAC selection, senior 6-1 guard Joseph Ellis (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) leads the Pioneers with 14.5 points per game (seventh in NJAC), adding 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. The 2010 NJAC Player of the Year as well as the 2008 and 2010 NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, 6-8 senior forward Abdoulaye Ouedraogo (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) is averaging 10.2 tallies and a team-best 7.3 rebounds (sixth in league) and 2.2 blocked shots (second in conference, 32nd in Division III) per game. Senior 6-3 guard Tim Lucas (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) is the team leader in steals (2.4 spg, third in conference) and assists (3.4 apg, sixth in NJAC) while chipping in 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest, and senior 6-2 guard Eric Moore (Dover, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) is adding 9.1 points per game. Senior 6-3 guard Bobby Dunn (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson Regional) is posting 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists (seventh in conference) per contest while compiling a team-best 1.43 assist/turnover ratio (third in NJAC). 

William Paterson returned 11 letterwinners and four starters this winter, a year after the Pioneers were 20-7 overall and 8-5 in NJAC competition. William Paterson finished second in the NJAC's North Division and reached the semifinals of the 2009 NJAC Tournament.

Scouting Richard Stockton
The top seed in the South Division, the Ospreys are 20-6 overall and 9-4 in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play this season. Richard Stockton defeated North No. 2 Seed Rutgers-Newark (20-7), 86-73, in the NJAC Tournament semifinals Feb. 24 in Pomona. In their only previous meeting this season, the Pioneers earned a 63-57 home victory against the Ospreys (Jan. 16). 

The 2009 NJAC Player of the Year and a member of this season's All-NJAC First Team, senior 5-9 guard Santini Lancioni leads Stockton with 15.0 points (fifth in NJAC) and 4.0 assists (third in league) per game. Senior 6-4 forward Omar Smith, a member of the All-NJAC Second Team, is adding 14.0 tallies and a team-best 6.9 rebounds (eighth in league) per contest, and junior 6-2 guard Michael Farrow is chipping in 12.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Sophomore 6-2 guard Pat Kelly is making 2.35 three-pointers per game (third in NJAC) and shooting .412 percent from behind the arc (fourth in league) while scoring 8.3 points per contest. 

Richard Stockton was 30-3 overall and 12-1 in conference competition last season, winning the 2009 NJAC Tournament and reaching the NCAA Tournament's national championship game.
