Biddle to Compete in FCS Senior Scout Bowl Dec. 11

Senior Cornerback One of Two Division III Players Invited to Event

After a successful appearance at the Division III Senior Classic, Leer Biddle has been invited to play in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl Dec. 11.
WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson senior cornerback Leer Biddle (Sicklerville, N.J./Lenape) has been selected to participate in the first-annual FCS Senior Scout Bowl Saturday, Dec. 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y. Fox College Sports Network will broadcast the game, and additional information as well as a live game cast will be available at http://www.fcsseniorbowl.com/.

Biddle will be a part of the North Team for the FCS (formerly called Division I-AA) Senior Scout Bowl, and is one of just two Division III student-athletes to have been invited to participate in the event (Joe Lopez, Cortland).

Biddle earned his invitation to the FCS Senior Scout Bowl based on his performance at the Division III Football Senior Classic held Dec. 3 in Salem, Va. He contributed an interception, and after the North took a 20-18 lead thanks to a field goal with two seconds remaining, he cut off a lateral of the South Team's kickoff return and ran it back 35 yards for a touchdown and the final points of the 26-18 victory.

A member of the 2010 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Team and a two-time second-team all-NJAC selection (2008-09), Biddle made 38 tackles (26 solo) while starting all 10 games this season. He paced the Pioneers with four blocked kicks, adding four pass breakups, a fumble forced and a 22-yard fumble return for a touchdown (vs. Montclair State, 11/13/10). A starter in all 40 games during his career, he registered 158 tackles (127 solo, 4.5 for loss), eight interceptions, 21 pass breakups, one fumble forced and two fumbles recovered.
