WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team climbed five spots to 16th in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 National Poll (Jan. 26).
The Pioneers are 18-1 overall and 7-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play, most recently defeating Rutgers-Camden by a 57-44 score Jan. 23 for William Paterson's school-record 16th straight victory. The Pioneers currently lead the NJAC's North Division standings and are the only team that is still unbeaten in conference play. A week ago, William Paterson made its 2009-10 season debut in the D3hoops.com Poll and was ranked 21st nationally.
The Pioneer men join the Pioneer women, who are ranked ninth by D3hoops.com this week, making William Paterson one of six Division III schools to currently have both of its basketball programs rated among the top 25 in the country (Amherst, Illinois Wesleyan, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Whitewater and Washington University, Mo.).
The Pioneers will visit New Jersey City Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 8:00 p.m.
