Three Pioneers Earn Softball All-NJAC Honors

Schraer, Reilly and Nadolny Named to Second Team

Diana Schraer, Meghan Reilly and Lindsey Nadolny were named to the All-NJAC Second Team.
WAYNE, N.J. – Three members of the William Paterson softball team – senior pitcher Diana Schraer (Paramus, N.J./Paramus), junior catcher/outfielder Meghan Reilly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) and freshman infielder/outfielder Lindsey Nadolny (Belford, N.J./Middletown North) – were named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Second Team, the conference office announced April 30.

For Schraer, it was her fourth career all-conference accolade (2008, 2007 and 2006 second teams, 2005 first team). This spring, she has led the William Paterson pitching staff with an 11-6 record and 1.97 earned-run average in 19 appearances. Starting 17 times with nine complete games and one shutout, she is tied for seventh in the NJAC in victories, ranks 11th in innings pitched (99.2) and 12th in strikeouts (60). For her career, she is William Paterson's leader in winning percentage (.789, 60-16), third in victories, strikeouts (275) and shutouts (20), and fifth in ERA (1.33) and innings pitched (523.0).

Reilly, a first-team all-NJAC selection last year, is currently batting .307 (27-88) while starting 34 of the Pioneers' 40 games. Tied for second for WP in runs scored (19) and third in RBI (13), she has added five doubles, a triple, a team-best .436 on-base percentage and a .992 fielding percentage this spring. On the conference statistical charts, she is sixth in walks/game (0.56), eighth in on-base percentage, and tied for ninth in walks (19).

Nadolny earned her first conference award after leading WP's everyday players with a .358 batting average in 34 games as a freshman. Also the team leader in RBI (26), triples (six), home runs (two), and slugging percentage (.566), she has added 18 runs scored and four stolen bases this spring. The NJAC leader in triples/game (0.18, tied-17th in Division III), she is tied for second in triples, ninth in RBI/game (0.76), 10th in slugging percentage, and 12th in hits/game (.1.12) in the conference statistics.

William Paterson (22-18, 8-10 NJAC) will begin NJAC Tournament play Wednesday, April 30, at top-seeded and sixth-ranked Montclair State (37-3, 18-0 NJAC) at 4:00 p.m.
