WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson senior forward
Amanda Kurdyla (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) earned a spot on the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team, the organization announced Dec. 9.
The 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Kurdyla was a three-time first-team all-NJAC selection (2006-08), as well as the 2007 NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, the 2005 NJAC Rookie of the Year and a member of the 2005 All-NJAC Second Team. The Pioneers' all-time leader in goals (66) and points (149), she led William Paterson this season with 16 goals and 35 points, including six game-winning goals, to rank second in GWG, tied for second in goals and tied for fifth in points on the WP single-season charts.
This marks Kurdyla's third career NSCAA all-region award, as she was a third-team selection following both the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
William Paterson finished the 2008 campaign with a 10-7-1 overall record and a 4-4-1 NJAC mark, reaching the first round of both the NJAC and ECAC Metro Tournaments.
