Oiler was a major contributor since coming to Wayne in 2013, garnering 41 victories between individual and relay wins. The Nottingham, N.J. native competed primarily as a distance freestyler but also saw competition in 50 and 100 back, 100 and 200 breast and freestyle and medley relays. Oiler’s highest marks at the Metropolitan Conference Swimming and Diving Championships included a second place finish in the 2017 400 free relay B Final (3:17.53), an eighth place mark in 2016 800 free relay (7:25.40) and sixth place finishes in the 2014 and 2015 400 IM C Final (4:43.08; 4:36.85).

Oiler not only exhibited consistency in the pool but the classroom as well, graduating Cum Laude with bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and chemistry as a Chi Alpha Sigma inductee, the national student-athlete honor society. His long list of academic accolades also included Fall 2013, Spring 2014, Fall 2014 and Fall 2015 Dean’s List honors, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 Metropolitan Conference Academic All-Conference laurels and back-to-back Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mention selections in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
