The owner of four individual and four relay records at William Paterson, Grace McKay will serve as a men’s and women’s swimming assistant coach for the Pioneers again this winter after working as an undergraduate assistant during the 2009-10 season.

McKay capped an illustrious three-year career (2006-09) by qualifying for the 2009 NCAA Championships in the 100 fly and 100 and 200 backs. She established new school records in the 50 free (24.48), 100 free (53.42), 100 back (57.73) and 100 fly (58.39), and helped the Pioneer relays set new standards in the 200 free (1:40.28), 400 free (3:39.85), 200 medley (1:50.69) and 400 medley (4:04.02). All of the records were established at the 2009 Metropolitan Championships (2/20-22), where she touched second in the 100 back (28.89), third in the 200 back (2:09.17) and fifth in the 100 fly (58.71) A Finals.

A member of the 2008-09 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First (100 back, 200 back, 200 medley relay) and Second (200 free relay, 400 free relay, 400 medley relay) Teams, she was named the NJAC Swimmer of the Week twice (12/15/08, 2/23/09) and the ECAC Swimmer of the Week once (12/17/08).

A native of Fair Lawn, N.J., she completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise and movement science at William Paterson in 2010. Her sister, Taylor, is a junior swimmer for the Pioneers this winter.
