Kelly Harchetts

  • Title
    Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Now in her fifth season as an assistant coach, Kelly Harchetts has grown from being one of the best goalies in Pioneer history to a mentor who has helped elevate the games of William Paterson’s most recent crop of goaltenders, including 2008 first-team all-American Christina Auger.

As a senior, Harchetts posted a school single-season record seven shutouts while ranking seventh nationally with a 0.90 goals-against average. As a result, she was selected to play in the 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III North/South All-Star Game and earned first-team all-South Atlantic Region and all-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors. Overall, Harchetts owns 11 school records, including victories (38), goals-against average (0.96) and shutouts (17). Harchetts was also the starting left fielder for the 2005 Pioneer softball team that won the New Jersey Athletic Conference and NCAA Tournament East Regional championships. Her triple in the regional championship game helped William Paterson reach the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Series for the second time in school history.

Harchetts was honored as William Paterson’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year at the 2005 National Girls and Women in Sports Day luncheon at Seton Hall University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and movement science from WP in 2005, and resides in Oakland.
