Women's Swimming and Diving Concludes First Day of NJAC Championship with Ninth-Place Finish

COLLEGE PARK, MD. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team finished ninth , tallying 74 points on the opening day of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship on Feb. 15.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • In the 800 free relay, the WP quartet of graduate student Rose Vail (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), senior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia), senior Nicole Kahwaty (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) and freshman Sarah Filipowicz (Hewitt, N.J./West Milford) placed ninth, clocking a time of 10:18.62.
  • The Pioneers finished 10th in the 200 medley relay with efforts by junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), sophomore Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), senior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and Vail, securing a time of 1:55.66.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • The 200 medley relay team secured a season-best time (1:55.66).

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to University of Maryland Natatorium, Friday, Feb. 16, for day two of the NJAC Championship. Session One begins at 9:30 a.m., with the evening session beginning at 5:30 p.m.
